Characterization of Tannin-tolerant Bacterial Isolates from East African Ruminants

Several tannin-tolerant bacteria were isolated from enrichment cultures of rumen microflora of bush duiker, giraffe, Grant’s gazelle, sheep, and goat, and established in medium containing crude tannin extracts or tannic acid.
