The Giraffe Resource Centre (GRC) is a knowledge centre for giraffe aiming at collecting, preserving, and cataloguing available publications on all four species of giraffe in one central repository and distributing it through appropriate media.
Giraffe are in trouble. Three of the four giraffe species are threatened with extinction and require greater protection and management in the wild. Sharing of knowledge among everybody who is involved with saving giraffe and their habitats is crucial for their efficient and effective conservation and management.
Important articles about giraffe ecology, management and health are regularly published, but they are often difficult to access, especially for those living and/or working in Africa. The GRC is a key tool for sharing this information. It makes this data easily accessible by using the most appropriate technology and allowing access through a dedicated website.
The GRC is an initiative of the Giraffe Conservation Foundation.
